Test Plan Review Meeting Successfully Held for National Science and Technology Major Project

On March 27, 2026, the test plan review meeting for the project “Research on Learner Cognition and Affective Computing for Smart Education” - a National Science and Technology Major Project under the New Generation Artificial Intelligence initiative - was held in Meeting Room 1182, Nanhu Building, CCNU. The project is led by CCNU.

The review expert panel consisted of Professor Bing Qin from Harbin Institute of Technology, Academician Shutao Li from Hunan University, Professor Shengjie Zhao from Tongji University, Professor Dan Chen from Wuhan University, and Professor Deze Zeng from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

Attendees from CCNU included Vice President Sannyuya Liu, Benwei Zhang, Director of the Office of Science and Technology, Qing Li, Deputy Director of the Institute for Frontier Interdisciplinary Studies, and Xiaoxiao Zhu, Deputy Director of the NERCEL and the NERC-EBD. The project lead, Professor Zongkai Yang, Director of the NERCEL and the NERC-EBD, along with project task leaders - Professor Yonghe Zheng from Beijing Normal University, Professor Feng Tian from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Professor Changqin Huang from Zhejiang University, and Professor Jianwen Sun from CCNU - as well as over 40 key research staff, also attended the meeting.

On behalf of the university, Sannyuya Liu delivered a welcome address and expressed sincere gratitude to the experts for their long-standing care and guidance toward both the university and the project team. He noted that the test plan serves as the foundation for evaluating project outcomes and measuring the achievement of key indicators. Its scientific soundness and standardization directly affect the quality and success of the project’s final acceptance review. He earnestly requested the experts to offer their valuable suggestions.

Jianwen Sun delivered an overall report on behalf of the project team, providing a systematic overview of the project’s progress, representative achievements, preparations for the final review, and the general approach to the test plan. Each research task then presented detailed reports on its respective research content, performance indicators, and testing plan.

The expert panel carefully listened to the reports, reviewed the relevant technical documents, and raised questions and held discussions. They unanimously agreed to approve the test plan for both the overall project and each individual task. The panel also recommended that stronger data privacy protections be implemented during the testing process.

Bing Qin and Shutao Li, the designated project experts, summarized the panel’s feedback. They expressed the hope that the project team would further refine the test plan materials based on the experts’ recommendations and steadily advance the subsequent acceptance procedures.

The successful conclusion of the review meeting marks the project’s official entry into the critical phase of final acceptance. Zongkai Yang, the project lead, expressed his gratitude to the expert panel for their meticulous guidance and professional support. He stated that the project team would work closely with all participating institutions, carefully incorporate the experts’ recommendations, and steadily advance the remaining work to ensure a high-quality project acceptance.
