From March 24 to 29, 2025, a delegation from Central China Normal University (CCNU), led by Professor Zuo Mingzhang—Deputy Minister of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education and Dean of the School of Educational Information Technology—visited several leading Russian academic institutions to strengthen partnerships in AI-driven education and digital innovation.
The delegation held in-depth discussions with Moscow City University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, the Russian Academy of Education, and Herzen University. Talks focused on establishing joint research platforms, expanding faculty and student exchange programs, and co-developing the "Xiaoya" intelligent teaching platform. Russian partners were also invited to participate in the upcoming 2025 World Digital Education Conference (WDEC) in Wuhan, where the launch of a Sino-Russian AI Education Joint Laboratory is planned.
At Moscow City University, both sides explored opportunities for shared laboratories, summer exchange programs, and on-campus demonstrations of the Xiaoya platform. The Russian Academy of Education confirmed plans to collaborate on inclusive education and to participate in WDEC. Meetings with Moscow State Pedagogical University and Herzen University emphasized long-term cooperation in digital learning and AI applications, with shared interest in formal agreements to guide future collaboration.
The visit marked a major step in CCNU’s internationalization efforts, strengthening ties between China and Russia in the field of "AI+Education" and setting the stage for continued joint innovation through global academic exchange.
